For over fifteen years Women & Leadership International (WLI) has been providing high quality professional development to women leaders across Australasia and North America.
This is our story…
Based on a simple truth, that globally, women still represent an enormously under-utilised resource, WLI is dedicated to developing female leaders and supporting the increased presence of women in business and community leadership roles. We believe that supporting a greater percentage of women to step up into leadership across all vocations and industries will have tremendous cultural and economic benefits.
WLI comprises a range of high-quality professional development courses, advisory services, networking channels, and on-going research. With over fifteen years of experience in leadership and gender equity, we are ideally positioned to respond to the needs of the contemporary female leader. Enabling women to share their experiences and learn from each other, the WLI community is a living, breathing example of the strength and passion of female leaders everywhere.
Our market leading development courses provide best of breed leadership education informed by academic theory and industry expertise. Focused on the unique complexities and opportunities of being a woman and a leader, we create experiences ‘for women’ but not necessarily ‘about women’.
Established in 2004, WLI’s events arm is a powerful international platform for dialogue around leadership and gender equality. Connecting the highest office holders and policy makers with the experiences of everyday women, our events put a spotlight on critical international issues and advocate for widespread, long term change. Founded in Australia under the name Women & Leadership Australia (WLA) we grew from very humble beginnings, running our first event for just sixty participants in the regional township of Wodonga in the northeast of Victoria. Since this event, WLI has grown into one of the world’s leading authorities on leadership and workplace gender equity. To date, approximately 60,000 women and many thousands of organisations have been involved, making WLI one of the strongest and fastest growing gender-focused leadership initiatives in the world today.
